Richard leads culture programs at HP. With more than 25 years in corporate communications, Richard specializes in brand-aligned internal communication and engagement supporting human resources and employee experience. He is known for creative solutions that help managers and employees navigate change to drive business success.
He joined HP in 2010, where he focused on a full array of HR programs before helping lead internal communications supporting Hewlett-Packard Company’s separation in 2015. Prior to that, he managed internal communication at Lucent Technologies and its enterprise spinoff, Avaya. His background also includes member and health care provider communications at Aetna and Health Care Service Corporation (Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans). His career also includes an entrepreneurial adventure—remodeling an old gas station into an acclaimed restaurant.
Richard has received the Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil Award of Excellence and Bronze Quill awards from the International Association of Business Communicators-Dallas. He graduated with a BFA in Communication Arts (broadcast news emphasis) and a minor in International Politics from Southern Methodist University. He is married and loves design, art, and long walks. He has lived in Dallas off and on for almost 30 years, with stints in the New York City area and tiny Marfa, Texas.
